Former UFC Lightweight star, and current WSOF athlete, Melvin Guillard had a pretty close call when he and his wife were involved in a terrible car accident while on their way to catch a movie and dinner. The wreck left his Mustang GT 500 a mangled heap of crushed metal and deployed airbags. Neither Guillard nor his wife was seriously injured, but you'd never know it by looking at the photos he posted on Instagram.
We both so lucky to be alive today GOD was watching over us both yesterday! !!!!! He definitely got my attention.
Melvin, who has historically fought on the UFC July 4th weekend cards, will now face off against Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante" at the upcoming WSOF 11: "Gaethje vs. Newell" NBC-televised mixed martial arts (MMA) event on July 5, 2014, inside the Ocean Center in Daytona, Florida.
