The UFC president had nothing bad to say about a bout between Anderson Silva, the former Middleweight champ most consider to be the greatest of all time (GOAT) and Nick Diaz, the former Strikeforce and Elite XC star who is refusing to return to UFC action unless it is for a truly big money fight.
Silva is out for the remainder of 2014 after breaking his shinbone in his unsuccessful attempt to regain the title from Chris Weidman at UFC 168 last December.
Diaz hasn't fought since losing a title challenge to then Welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre at UFC 158.
"If that's what'll take to get Nick to fight again. I know [Silva's team] wants it, so we'll see what happens.
"No (I haven't spoken with Diaz and Silva). Anderson isn't coming back until December, anyway. End of this year or the beginning of next year. It could be either.
"I think it'd be tough for Anderson to make 170 [pounds]. A few years ago he was saying he could do it, but I don't know about now. You're not getting any younger.
"Anderson wants to fight Nick. Nick wants to fight Anderson. Why would I say no?"
