Glory 15 and SuperKombat not enough for you kickboxing fans? You need one more show to watch this Saturday? Well fear not, Bloody Elbow has you covered.
Saturday, April 12, Bloody Elbow will have fight coverage of K-1 Battle for Spain. This event is live from, well, Spain, and will be available in a live stream right here at Bloody Elbow starting at 4:00 p.m. ET.
If you go into a 2014 K-1 event looking for the great kickboxing organization of the 90's and 00's, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. But after a very rough few years and a period where it seemed the company was finally done, K-1 has managed to put together a nice string of cards as of late. Their focus is now much more on up and coming and regional fighters - there are no names on here that are going to grab the casual kickboxing fan. But they are putting on entertaining shows, and this one should be no different.
The main event here sees Maximo Suarez takes on Sergio Sanchez. Suarez is a good talent who has the potential to become a notable name in the international scene. He's the easy favorite here over Sanchez, who comes in as a late replacement for Elam Ngor. Look for Suarez to pick up a nice win here and continue to build up his name.
Other fighters to watch on the card include Moises Ruibal and Miodrag Olar. Again, not a card high in name value, but it should make for a fun event.
