UFC Fight Night 36: Post-fight bonuses - Silva, Oliveira, Machida and Mousasi earn $50,000

There were a lot of close fights between promising young talents on February 15th's UFC Fight Night card and a few fighters really delivered. It's cards like these that make Dana's post fight job easy. Only two finishes, one sub, one KO, and only a handful of really solid action. White Tweeted the bonuses, before the final bell even sounded.

Erick Silva got the only KO of the night with a quick and brutal finish of Takenori Sato. Sato not only didn't land a strike or takedown on Silva, he didn't even get a chance to throw one. Add in a few flicking heel kicks to Sato's dome and it was as dominant a performance as a fighter can have.

Charles Oliveira didn't exactly struggle with Andy Ogle, but as always the Brit was more than game and rose to the task of a difficult fight with some solid positional grappling and better than advertised striking. He made it a tough night on Oliveira, who nonetheless met the odds head on and slapped on a late triangle choke to elicit that tapout. It was the night's only submission and the only other stoppage on the card.

Finally, in the night's main event Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi put on a striking game of inches. What started close early slowly became a landslide performance for Machida as he found his timing and his range and teed off on Mousasi who struggled to find a consistent offensive rhythm. It was a great back and fourth battle fought over range control, footwork, and effective counterstriking. Between that and Iuri Alcantara vs. Wilson Reis it was definitely the competitive highlight of the night.
