Renan Barao's father had a brain ischemia and is in stable medical condition

Renan Barao's father Jose "Netinho" Pegado had a brain ischemia this Friday and was taken to a hospital in Natal, capital city of the Rio Grande Norte state in Brazil. Patricio Freire, who is trained by Pegado at Pitbull Brothers camp, reported the situation via Instagram initially informing that it was case of a stroke, but later Globo found out that it was brain ischemia. The medical report says that the patient's condition improved and the doctors will wait to see if his progress continues, then they will do more exams and determine if surgery is needed.

Before this unfortunate event Barao, the former Bantamweight champion, was in Rio de Janeiro preparing himself at Nova Uniao for his fight against Mitch Gagnon, in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Dollaway, on December 20. Let's hope that Barao's father makes it through ok (and, less important, that the bout still happens).
