Don Frye on UFC 182 main event: I think Jon Jones bit off more than he can chew

On Saturday night, MMA fans will be treated to an enthralling encounter in the UFC 182 main event, as light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones and title challenger Daniel Cormier clash on the first fight card of 2015.

While many have publicly supported Jones to retain the title in a captivating thriller, former UFC heavyweight Don Frye is not so certain about that prediction.

"I'll tell you what, the build up's been pretty decent man," Frye told Submission Radio. "These two boys have been bringing it. It's been a lot of fun and very entertaining, but I think [Jon] Jones has bit off more than he can chew. He's been bragging, and it happens to us all. It happened to me, it happened to Mark Coleman, you know it happened to [Mark] Kerr, it happened to Fedor. After a while, after so many wins you get bored, and you stop training so hard, and you start trying to phone it in, and you realize that hey some of these guys, they own the phone. You know, shit."

Couple Jones' boredom with Cormier's impeccable resume and dominance in MMA thus far, Frye is leaning towards an upset in a possible "fight of the decade."

"I think that Jon's at that level where he's just bored with it. He's over-impressed himself and Daniel's got a heck of a resume and he's a heck of an athlete. I think besides Dan Severn I think he's the best wrestler who's came into the sport, and he's not afraid of getting hit. So I think it's going to be a barn burner. I think this will be the fight of the decade."
