Two men who were in grueling, punishing striking wars will face each other on the preliminary card of UFC 166 in Houston. As confirmed by the UFC (through their TUF twitter account), TUF 15's Jeremy Larsen goes up against Matt Grice this October.
Grice (15-5) had an unbelievable battle with Dennis Bermudez at UFC 157, but was on the wrong end of a split decision. He did win FOTN honors in what has to be considered one of the leading candidates for best fight of 2013. However, he's just 2-5 in the UFC and risks his 2nd release from the promotion with another loss.
Larsen (8-4, 1 NC) has yet to win in two UFC fights, and was seemingly on his way to victory against Lucas Martins in May before he was dramatically knocked out at the start of the 3rd round. He was also beaten in his 2nd fight on TUF: Live by Michael Chiesa. This is Larsen's featherweight debut and is obviously not likely to be staying in the UFC if he loses again.
UFC 166 features a heavyweight trilogy between champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos, and a co-main event between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson.
