The UFC left FX as of last night. From now on, all UFC content will be on either Fox, Fox Sports 1, or Fox Sports 2. On August 17th, Fox Sports 1 launches with a live card from Boston, MA, featuring great action from main card all the way down to the preliminary card.
Ultimately, with Chael Sonnen moving down to 185 after he fights Mauricio Rua, this main event probably lost a bit of its relevancy. If Sonnen had planned on staying at 205 long-term, a win over Rua would bolster his credibility as a potential top 10 LHW. Instead, this looks to be Chael's last fight at 205 and he looks to finally beat a former UFC champion.
The rest of the main card is loaded with talent, including the co-main of Alistair Overeem and Travis Browne, Mike Pyle against Matt Brown, and Urijah Faber versus Yuri Alcantara. Even the Fox Sports 1 prelims feature recent title challenger Michael McDonald (against Brad Pickett), Conor McGregor (versus Max Holloway), and Diego Brandao (versus Daniel Pineda).
Joe Rogan returns to commentary for this event alongside Jon Anik, and it should be a great night of fights. Here's what the show lineup looks like:
