Alan Belcher wants a move to 205 and a fight in December

For fighters in lighter divisions, sometimes the decision to drop a weight class doesn't seem that difficult. 10-15 pounds doesn't seem like an insurmountable task, especially if you're not huge for your division to start with. But with the gap between light heavyweight and middleweight being 20 pounds, it's tough for some guys to continue justifying a huge cut.. A few UFC middleweights, notably Wanderlei Silva, have decided they just don't want to make that cut any more and have decided to carry on at 205. And according to UFC Tonight, the latest of those men is Alan Belcher:

"According to his manager, he's serious about moving back up to light heavyweight. He wants to return in December."

Belcher (18-8) entered the UFC way back in 2006 and has gone 9-6 in the organization. He had been on a four-fight win streak that brought him to the cusp of the top 10, but consecutive losses to Yushin Okami and Michael Bisping have stalled him there. He has competed once as a light heavyweight in the UFC, and fought at a 195 lb. catchweight another time. He won both of those bouts.
