Nick Diaz no-shows interview with Mike Schiavello

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Retired MMA fighter turned fight promoter Nick Diaz may no longer be at the beck and call of a UFC press schedule, but that hasn't stopped him from bailing on yet another promotional engagement. This time it was an appearance with long time fight caller and combat sports personality Michael "The Voice" Schiavello on his AXS TV program The Voice Versus. Shiavello tweeted the news on Monday:

Shiavello spoke directly to Bloody Elbow about the incident, saying:

"It is disappointing and unprofessional and would have been the best int of Nick's life."

Of course this isn't the first time, as Diaz notoriously ducked out on a planned charity BJJ match against Braulio Estima. He was also pulled from his title fight against Georges St. Pierre for missing pre-fight media engagements and got in trouble for delaying taping of his pre-UFC 158 Countdown shows.

After retirement, it was beginning to look like he was righting the ship in terms of professional management. His inaugural promotional effort, WAR MMA 1 was a fairly smooth production. Now however, it would appear that he's back to his old ways. No news yet as to whether the interview will be rescheduled, or if it will be cancelled altogether. I guess once you no-show TTTHS, all bets are off.
