Saturday June 27, Bloody Elbow presents fight coverage of Zou Shiming vs. Jesus Ortega on HBO2. HBO Boxing Fists of Gold II: Shiming vs. Ortega airs this Saturday, July 27 on HBO2. The card is live in Macau, China, and HBO2 will be airing it on a tape delay at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT. Bloody Elbow will have fight coverage, including results and discussion, right here.
Shiming made his much discussed debut as a professional boxer earlier this year, scoring a 4 round decision win over Eleazar Valenzuela on HBO. The two time Olympic gold medalist comes to the professional game with a lot of hype. That's primarily due to his strong amateur and Olympic pedigree, but also for what he represents - a possible superstar for the potentially huge Chinese market. It's clear that both HBO and Top Rank have high hopes for what Shiming can do for them. It will be interesting to see how Shiming progresses over the course of his next few fights.
