The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 1 winner Cezar Ferreira has a new opponent for UFC 163, and he's also a veteran of TUF. Thiago Santos, a quarter-finalist on TUF Brazil 2, will step in on short notice to replace Clint Hester. MMA Junkie has the news:
Next month's UFC 163 event has undergone yet another change, as Thiago "Marreta" Santos (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has stepped in to replace an injured Clint Hester (8-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and now meets Cezar "Mutante" Ferreira (5-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on the evening's main card.
Santos competed at welterweight on TUF, and is moving up a weight class here to make his official UFC debut. He was on Team Werdum on the show, and was beaten by eventual TUF winner Leonardo Santos. It should go without saying that his is not the same Thiago Santos that competed in Bellator as a heavyweight. Just getting that out there.
UFC 163 will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chan Sung Jung.
