J'Leon Love def. Gabriel Rosado by split decision (94-95, 97-92, 95-94)
Gabriel Rosado and J'Leon Love were tasked with opening up the May Day Mayweather vs. Guerrero PPV, and the two men delivered, turning in a very entertaining fight. Early on, it seemed like Love was getting the advantage with a bit more regularity, though as the fight progressed, Rosado took more control. The lone knockdown of the fight came in round 6 where Rosado dropped Love for the first time in the young fighter's career.
When the judges scores were announced, they were met with a fair amount of boos, as many clearly felt the veteran Rosado should have won. Personally, I had it 96-93 Rosado, but this was far too close of a fight to call it a robbery either way. Round by round was very close, and a Love win is certainly not unjustified.

For Love, this was a big opportunity. An undefeated fighter, Love was facing a big step up here against Rosado. Regardless of your feelings on the outcome, Love definitely showed that he is a skilled fighter, but in need of more work if he's going to stay at this level.
Post-fight, the two men discussed a rematch, which would certainly be welcome.
