It's no secret that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones suffered a gross toe injury in his win over Chael Sonnen at UFC 159. That was over a month ago now, and Jones has opened up a bit about his recovery on twitter. He mentioned today that he went to see a podiatrist regarding the injury:
Obviously a somewhat-vague tweet like that is going to lead to questions, and Jones answered one of them regarding his options:
Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what this means. Does the UFC have a fight lined up for him and he needs to make up his mind whether to take it now or later? How much more recovery time would he need? If the UFC is asking him to firm up a fight now, that obviously means that Dana's talk of Jones vs. Anderson Silva isn't something that would be next, considering Silva doesn't fight Chris Weidman until July. Basically, there's not a ton of conclusions that can be drawn from this. But I'm sure we'll learn more soon.
