Ronaldo Souza made his long-awaited UFC debut at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil, and he made the most of it. The grappling phenom didn't even need four full minutes to submit opponent Chris Camozzi, and picked up a check for submission of the night on top of that. Check out the highlight video above to see the beautiful finish (the highlights are after the interview), or read my description of the fight below.
Round 1 - Camozzi came forward quickly and ate a counter. They clinched up a bit but Camozzi separated. Jacare landed a nice shot and got a takedown. Souza opened up with some punches but didn't immediately look to pass. He popped out of guard a couple of times to drop punches, and Camozzi landed an upkick. Jacare had enough of that and jumped back in, then moved to side control. Camozzi almost reversed but got stuck in an omoplata. He used it to get back on top, then jumped right to mount. Jacare set up the arm triangle with ease, and got the tap just like that. Just silky smooth. Awesome work. Jacare Souza defeated Chris Camozzi by submission (arm triangle choke), 3:37 of round 1
