The Canadian Prairies are going to get their first UFC card in June, and it just keeps getting better and better. On top of a bantamweight title fight and two light heavyweight wars, they're also going to get a battle between formidable heavyweight strikers with crowd favorite Pat Barry meeting ex-Strikeforce fighter Shawn Jordan. Neil Davidson of The Canadian Press first reported the bout.
Barry (8-5, 5-5 UFC) is coming off a thunderous knockout of Shane del Rosario at the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale, while Jordan (14-4) has acquitted himself well in the UFC thus far with a 2-1 record. His last bout was a second-round TKO win over Mike Russow at UFC on Fox 6 in January.
The bout is expected to take place on the undercard, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was the featured bout on FX or even the opening bout on the pay per view. The show will be headlined, as mentioned above, by a UFC interim bantamweight title fight between Renan Barao and former WEC champ Eddie Wineland.
