More event announcements to report regarding the UFC's live fight cards on Fox Sports 1. Their first event on the new channel will be shown live in primetime on launch day (Saturday, August 17th), and another card appears to be in the works for Super Bowl week. Popular sports media blog Fang's Bites, who is currently at today's press conference in New York, tweeted FS1's schedule for that week:
There is no date or venue set for this event, but with the Super Bowl at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, the women's soccer game in New Jersey, and college basketball in Brooklyn (where the Barclays Center is located), it'd be safe to think the UFC card will be in either New Jersey or (hopefully) New York. It's also not confirmed whether or not this card will be "instead of" the UFC's annual Saturday PPV on Super Bowl weekend, or if we'll potentially see two UFC events on the same week.
Here's what we know so far of the confirmed or targeted Fox Sports live "Fight Nights":
- First show - Saturday, August 17th. (Source: Fox Sports)
- Second show - Sometime in December. (Source: MMA Junkie)
- Third show - Super Bowl week
Plenty more news will certainly leak as Fox continues to advertise their brand new venture into all-sports channels.
