Remember when this Fox card was supposed to feature Carlos Condit/Matt Brown and Anthony Pettis/Josh Thomson? Well yesterday Condit/Brown was scratched due to a Brown injury and Pettis probably won't be fighting for the title until summer or fall 2014.
The preliminary card has had its share of injuries, as well. Ian McCall, John Dodson, Kelvin Gastelum, John Moraga, and Jamie Varner all withdrew from their respective bouts, but all things considered this card still has plenty of good fights. Demetrious Johnson defends his flyweight title against Joseph Benavidez, who he beat to claim the inaugural belt last year. Michael McDonald makes his return to Fox after his long stint on Mad TV co-headlines the card against Urijah Faber, who will have a partisan crowd cheering him on. It's also a big night for Nik Lentz, who finds himself on a UFC main card for the first time ... literally ever. This is his 13th UFC fight, and he'll look to pull off the upset over Chad Mendes.
