UFC Fight Night 35 is quickly filling up with some good fights, and Sean Shelby has matched up flyweights John Moraga and Dustin Ortiz for the January 15th event in Atlanta.
Moraga (13-2) is coming off a title fight loss against Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Fox 8 in Seattle. The 29-year-old was outclassed for virtually the entire bout and then in the 5th round Johnson pulled off an armbar win. Moraga's previous two UFC bouts saw him KO Ulysses Gomez and submit Chris Cariaso.
Ortiz (12-2) is on a 5 fight winning streak dating back to August 4th, 2012, which was coincidentally the same night as Moraga's UFC debut. Dustin took his own first UFC outing by 3rd round TKO over Jose Maria Tome at UFC Fight Night 32 in Brazil last month.
As you may recall, Moraga was scheduled to be on the UFC on Fox 9 card vs. Darren Uyenoyama, but pulled out with an injury. Thankfully it's not serious enough to keep him out for long, as he's been booked merely a month past his original date.
Middleweights Luke Rockhold and Constantinos Philippou headline the card, with a co-main event to be announced soon.
