Penn vs. Aldo? This was a good one folks. A lot of excellent points made from both sides and a back and forth battle that always seemed up for grabs. So who took home the win? In the end, it was the #3 seed Jose Aldo who did what I thought was unthinkable - he denied B.J. Penn a spot in the Elite 8. Aldo takes the win 112-101 in a great war. Next up for Aldo is Jon Jones.
Today, our last fight of the Sweet 16, and it is a huge one. Fedor. Couture. What else need be said? This is the fight many fans wanted a few years ago, and for good reason. USA vs Russia. Pride vs UFC. This is everything you want in a major MMA fight - the only sad part is that we never saw these two square off in the real world.
