Well, you can't fault Jose Aldo for effort. The #3 seed made it all the way to the Final 4, taking out two serious competitors in B.J. Penn and Jon Jones along the way, but the Spider was just too much for him. Anderson Silva once again cruised into the next round, taking out Aldo by a score of 130-24. Remarkably, that's actual the closest anyone has come to defeating Silva in this tournament. He now has secured a spot in the finals, and awaits today's winner.
And today's winner? Well that's going to be a tough one. Because this battle for the last spot in the finals is absolutely huge. Two #1 seeds, two definitive all time greats, two men who ruled their divisions. Fedor Emelianenko (35-4(1)) vs. Georges St. Pierre (25-2). This is going to be a good one folks.
