Darrell Montague vs. Will Campuzano scheduled for UFC 171

Darrell Montague is hoping his next fight in Texas has a far better result than his last one. The UFC has announced a UFC 171 bout between him and Will Campuzano, who is returning to flyweight following a short notice fight at bantamweight.

Montague (13-3) signed with the UFC with high expectations after his run in Tachi Palace Fights, which saw him briefly claim the flyweight title before Ian McCall took it away with a submission win in 2011. Riding a four fight winning streak, "The Mongoose" took on the powerful John Dodson at UFC 166 and was absolutely steamrolled in the opening round before face-planting on the canvas on the KO punch.

Campuzano (13-5) was bounced from the UFC following two straight losses, but he found immediate success at flyweight and eventually became the Legacy FC champion. His most notable win in the division came in 2012 when he KO'd Josh Sampo in Missouri. The ex-WEC fighter returned to the UFC in November on the heels of a bantamweight win over Hideo Tokoro. He fought Sergio Pettis on a week's notice and while he was competitive, he lost a unanimous decision to drop to 0-3 in the organization.

UFC 171 is headlined by Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler, with the winner crowned the new undisputed UFC welterweight champion.
