Matt Grice has part of skull successfully reattached

USA TODAY Sports

UFC featherweight Matt Grice may have been a fighter before, but the biggest fight of his life has taken place over the last few months. Back in September, Grice was rear-ended by someone at high speed and he sustained major damage to his brain. He has undergone life-saving surgeries already, including one that removed a part of his skull.

In an inspiring interview on The MMA Hour last month, he said that he was due to go in for surgery to have that part of his skull reattached in December. And in true Grice fashion, he announced that the surgery was successful with a bit of humor on twitter:

From everyone at Bloody Elbow, we wish Matt continued success in his recovery. If you'd like to continue seeing how Grice is coming along when he's not tweeting, you can check out this Facebook page maintained by his wife.
