Saturday December 21, Bloody Elbow presents fight coverage of Glory 13 Tokyo. Bloody Elbow will have fight coverage, including results and discussion, right here.
PLEASE NOTE - On Saturday, this will be the results and discussion thread for the Spike TV broadcast of Glory 13 only. Due to the time change from Japan, Glory 13 airs on tape delay, showing on Spike at 9:00 p.m. ET Saturday, December 21. Join us here for spoiler-free discussion of the Spike card Saturday night. For live coverage of the Superfight Series, check back later for our separate live thread.
Glory 13 marks the third time Glory brings their world class kickboxing to Spike, and as anyone who tuned in for either Glory 11 or 12 can tell you - these are must-watch shows. Already, Glory has established itself on Spike as an all-action, anything can happen company, where the best in the world square off in lightning fast rounds. Both previous shows have seen big upsets in the tournaments - will we see the same in Tokyo?
Headlining the card is Glory 11 Chicago Heavyweight tournament champion Rico Verhoeven, as he faces all-time kickboxing great Peter Aerts in Aerts's "retirement" fight (but probably not really his last fight). Also on the card is a great Heavyweight slugfest pitting Daniel Ghita against Errol Zimmerman. Finally, there's the Glory trademark - the 4 man tournament. This time, it's a Welterweight tournament, featuring the superb Nieky Holzken as the favorite, and technical wiz Joseph Valtellini as the dark horse.
Simply put - it's a great card, from the hottest company in combat sports right now. Yes, it won't be live, but if that's the price we pay for getting kickboxing on Spike, I can deal.
Join us here at Bloody Elbow for Glory 13 Tokyo results, discussion, and fight coverage this Saturday, December 21.
