UFC Fight Night 36: Machida vs. Mousasi fight card shaping up

Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE

The landscape of the middleweight division has changed quite drastically since Chris Weidman knocked out Anderson Silva. In addition to the Weidman win, two prominent light heavyweights have decided to drop to 185. Lyoto Machida's debut in the division went off without a hitch, as he knocked out Mark Munoz with a first round head kick in October. Gegard Mousasi, former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, has fought just once in the UFC, winning a decision over late-notice replacement Ilir Latifi. A serious knee injury has delayed his return, but his next fight will be at middleweight against Machida this February in a five round fight.

"Jacare" Souza's addition to the MW roster from Strikeforce has also been great. The decorated BJJ black belt easily submitted Chris Camozzi in his UFC debut before showcasing his KO power against Yushin Okami. You'll see Souza in the co-main event against fellow top 10er Francis Carmont.

Now, according to the UFC's website, this card will air on Fox Sports 1, as opposed to several other international events that will be streamed on the UFC's yet-to-be launched digital subscription service. So assuming this is true, you're not literally going to see all of the international cards removed from FS1 or FS2. Here's the current list of fights, which doesn't have a specified bout order past the co-main event:

Lyoto Machida vs. Gegard Mousasi
Ronaldo Souza vs. Francis Carmont
Erick Silva vs. Nate Loughran
Francisco Trinaldo vs. Jesse Ronson
Viscardi Andrade vs. Nicholas Musoke
Charles Oliveira vs. Andy Ogle
Cristiano Marcello vs. Joe Proctor
Rodrigo Damm vs. Ivan Jorge
Thiago Tavares vs. Zubair Tuhugov
