There's more fight announcement news for UFC Fight Night 35. Last night the UFC confirmed a middleweight matchup between Brad Tavares and Lorenz Larkin for the January 15th Fox Sports 1 card:
Tavares is 6-1 in the UFC and is currently riding a 4 fight winning streak. The 25-year-old Hawaiian last fought in August vs. Bubba McDaniel, taking a unanimous decision victory over the TUF 17 alum. Brad's only loss in the UFC was against Aaron Simpson at UFC 137 back in 2011.
Larkin lost a highly controversial decision to Francis Carmont in his UFC debut, but the former Strikeforce fighter did pick up a win in Fort Campbell against Chris Camozzi in a highly entertaining fight. The 27-year-old also holds a win over current welterweight contender Robbie Lawler.
UFC Fight Night 35 also features a main event between Luke Rockhold and Constantinos Philippou, as well as a co-main event between Ovince St. Preux and Thiago Silva that pesky opponent known as TBD.
