Thiago Silva not fighting Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 35 after all

If you were reading Bloody Elbow earlier today you probably saw the news that Thiago Silva was set to fight Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 35 in Atlanta this January. Pretend I never wrote that up. It didn't take long for Silva to be out of what is apparently the co-main event:

No word on what caused Silva (16-3, 2 NC) to withdraw from the bout, but it's not a failed drug test in case you're speculating that possibility. All UFC Fight Night 29 drug tests came back clean, so it's not a 3rd offense for Silva.

St. Preux (14-5) will obviously get a new opponent as said in the tweet. I would personally vouch for Phil Davis, but it's perhaps "too much, too soon" for OSP and a major step down for Davis, who is coming off an (admittedly controversial) win over Lyoto Machida. Either way, light heavyweight is not a good division right now so options are pretty thin.*

The main event for this Fox Sports 1 show is Luke Rockhold vs. Constantinos Philippou.
