Patrick Cote Vs. Alessio Sakara Set For UFC 154 In Montreal

Presswire

A surefire FOTN candidate has been added to UFC 154 in Montreal. Former middleweight challenger and Quebec native Patrick Cote fights Italian striker Alessio Sakara this November. UFC Canada confirmed the news through their Twitter account.

C'est très bon et je l'aime beaucoup! Cote (17-8 MMA, 5-8 UFC) has had three different stints with the UFC including this one. "The Predator" is coming off a disappointing defeat to Cung Le at UFC 148 in July, dropping him to a tepid 5-8 in the UFC. He has sandwiched a 5 fight win streak (which led him to a title shot vs. Anderson Silva) in-between two four-fight losing streaks in his UFC career. Despite this, he is a fan-favorite for his exciting fights, KO power, and iron chin, and still has never been knocked out in his MMA career.

Sakara (15-9, 1 NC MMA; 6-6, 1 NC UFC) has proven to be just as exciting as Cote, but sadly doesn't have Cote's chin. In April, "Legionarius" was violently knocked out by Brian Stann, marking his 4th KO loss in the UFC. His biggest win was against Thales Leites at UFC 101, but his most famous fight, a KO defeat, was at UFC 75 when Houston Alexander was indeed for real.

There's pretty much no way or particular reason for this to go to the ground, so expect fireworks from both of these men who are in desperate need of a win. Whether it's on the main card or preliminary card is unknown at this point.
