UFC 148 Results: Cung Le Decisions Patrick Cote

Cung Le defeated Patrick Cote by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Cung Le finally picked up his first UFC win with an entertaining unanimous decision victory over Patrick Cote. Cote couldn't find a home for his right hand often enough, and his lack of serious aggression ended up being his downfall. Le mixed up his wide array of kicks with a takedown or two and won all three rounds on the cards.

Le immediately caught a kick and threw Cote to the ground. Straight san shou. Le landed a few kicks, which shouldn't be surprising. Cote looked for the right over and over, but Le was out of range. Cote landed a nice kick of his own. Cote shot in for a takedown but got stuffed. Le looked quite relaxed, while Cote was reaching. Le landed a nice kick to the body.

Le landed a nice wheel kick and some side kicks to the gut. Cote was able to land a glancing right that opened a small cut. Le landed a punch that opened a cut on the side of Cote's head. Le landed another spinning kick. Cote came back with a nice combo that ended with a leg kick. Cung landed a nice knee to the body and a big shot but Cote returned fire. Cote landed a flurry of body shots in the clinch.

Le landed a low blow, but Cote was good to go. Cote looked for a takedown after eating some strikes. Le managed to stay on his feet, then gets a big takedown of his own. Cung controlled the rest of the fight on the ground.
