Nebraska-based Resurrection Fighting Alliance continues to make waves in the MMA world. With former UFC veterans Tyson Griffin, Joe Stevenson, Jens Pulver, as well as former collegiate wrestling standout Bubba Jenkins on their roster, RFA today announced the signing of one of the best and most exciting prospects in the sport in Sergio Pettis. The 18-year-old and younger brother of former WEC champion and UFC lightweight contender Anthony Pettis signed a 5-fight deal with RFA, news that was made official in a press release on their website.

Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) announced this morning that it has signed highly touted Duke Roufus kickboxing protégé turned undefeated bantamweight MMA fighter Sergio Pettis to a 5-fight deal. Pettis is the 18-year-old younger brother of former WEC lightweight champion and current UFC star Anthony Pettis.

Pettis shared his thoughts on the deal by stating, " I am excited to fight for RFA. It's a great promotion with a lot of really talented fighters. I look forward to the competition and showing the RFA fans what I can do."

Sergio started his career as a bantamweight before dropping to flyweight for his last two fights, and Bloody Elbow had listed him as the #3 prospect in the 2012 World MMA scouting report. He is 5-0 in his professional career with 2 submissions and 2 head-kick KOs, to go along with a 4-0 record in his amateur bouts. For now, Pettis will be fighting at bantamweight. His debut is scheduled for October, also coinciding with RFA's debut in Las Vegas, Nevada, and their 4th event overall.

If his time with RFA is a success and he continues to provide highlight-reel moments, it surely won't be long before the UFC comes calling for one of the sport's potential up-and-coming stars.
