Report: Vitor Belfort To Face Alan Belcher At UFC 153

Presswire

With all the back and forth between UFC middleweight contenders lately, some matchmaking clarity was badly needed. And if you believe Vitor Belfort, that has finally come. According to a tweet from The Phenom, he's facing Alan Belcher at UFC 153 on October 13th:

That roughly translates to "The decision of Dana White's, Belcher in Rio". Tatame picked up on the tweet and is reporting the fight as well.

Belfort (21-9) has bounced back from his UFC 126 loss to Anderson Silva with two big wins over Yoshihiro Akiyama and Anthony Johnson. He finished both men in the first round. Belcher (18-6) returned from a 16-month layoff due to an eye injury in late 2011 and has picked up two first-round stoppages as well. He's on a four-fight win streak overall.

If true, the bout will likely serve as either the co-main event or the third fight on the main card.
