Alistair Overeem won't be able to fight for the rest of the year, but that isn't stopping him from doing interviews and trying to drum up interest in his return. He was recently a judge at the K-1 tryouts in California, and Spencer Lazara of MMA Interviews spoke with The Reem about a few different issues. The sound on the video isn't that great, but he did talk about his eventual return to the cage and who he thinks he might face, made his picks for the UFC 150 bout between Ben Henderson and Frankie Edgar ("Bendooooo"), and also discussed Dan Henderson's UFC 151 bout with Jon Jones and a possible Jones matchup with Anderson Silva.
You can check out the video below, and some choice quotes after the jump. There aren't that many transcribed because I couldn't really hear him that well with my brutal computer speakers. Anyway, here you go.
Overeem discusses his return:
"I'm looking to return in December. It looks like they're going to match Cain (Velasquez) with Dos Santos first, but you know, I'm a fighter. I've fought for 15 years now, no matter who they've put in front of me."
He talks about a possible Jon Jones vs. Anderson Silva fight, and said it's not going to happen:
"I spoke to Jon...'No, I don't want to fight him because he's my mentor', this and that.
...
:"So, that fight is not going to happen. Unfortunately for the fans, and unfortunately for me because I would like to see that."
