I'm supposed to write a paragraph that describes how awesome this UFC on Fuel 4 recap is going to be. To be fair, the card featured a lot of action and was definitely better than your average UFC card. Still though, if a guy takes a punch in the face and falls over like at tree in the woods, do any UFC fans hear him fall? Welcome to a Fuel card, and a terrible analogy.
Joey Beltran (14-8, 3-5 UFC) vs. James Te Huna (15-5, 4-1 UFC)
Te Huna had Beltran in danger near the end of the first round, but the ever-resilient Beltran held on and smiled at the end of the stanza. Te Huna apparently broke his hand and foot in the first, and changed up his game to compensate. Takedowns and control defined the next two rounds and despite a spirited Beltran attack, the bout ended with JTH's hand getting raised.
Kenny Robertson (11-2, 0-2 UFC) vs. Aaron Simpson (12-3, 7-3 UFC)
Simpson's debut at 170 was a bit shaky at first, but his superior wrestling pedigree took hold over the second half of the fight and he grinded out a unanimous decision win. Robertson wilted in the third and Simpson came close to finishing the fight with punishing ground and pound, but it wasn't to be.
Francis Carmont (19-7, 3-0 UFC) vs. Karlos Vemola (9-3, 2-3 UFC)
Vemola had his moments and tried to squeeze the face off of Carmont a few times, but wasn't able to get the finish. Carmont showed patience and some solid fight IQ to escape the early guillotines, and took over in the second round with his own submission attempts. He was able to lock Vemola up standing and used a kimura attempt to fall right into a crucifix, leaving Vemola completely defenseless. Carmont elicited a tap not long after.
SBN coverage of UFC on Fuel 4: Munoz vs. Weidman
T.J. Dillashaw (6-1, 2-1 UFC) vs. Vaughan Lee (12-8-1, 1-2 UFC)
Lee showed off his striking game early, but Dillybar jumped onto Lee's back after slipping a kick and it was all over from there. He showed patience to set up a submission, and was still able to finish despite the lack of a true rear naked choke.
Rafael dos Anjos (17-6, 6-4 UFC) vs. Anthony Njokuani (15-7, 1 NC, 2-4 UFC)
RDA wasn't intimated by Njokuani's striking at all and staggered him early with a big punch. He used a solid takedown attack and some quality grappling to control the rest of the fight and pick up another win.
