In the UFC On FX 6 main card opening fight, Middleweights Rousimar Palhares faced off against Hector Lombard. Toquinho came into the fight coming off a TKO loss to Alan Belcher at UFC On Fox 3. He had his hands full against former Olympian Lombard who lost his UFC debut to Tim Boetsch via decision at UFC 149.
Lombard controlled the center of the octagon in the first as Palhares circled into his power hand. About halfway through Lombard finally landed power shots that sent Toquinho down. He looked for the finish but got wrapped up before they returned to the feet. Back to standing and it didn't take long for Lombard to land big again. He flurried on a barely conscious Palhares to finally put him out. Hector Lombard knocked out Rousimar Palhares at (3:38) of the first round.
