Report: Sam Stout Out of UFC 137 Fight With Dennis Siver

Sam Stout has been through a lot lately. The death of his best friend, brother-in-law and trainer Shawn Tompkins earlier this month must have been devastating for him, and it comes as little surprise that he has apparently withdrawn from his UFC 137 fight with Dennis Siver. MMA Junkie reported the news a little while ago.

While it isn't clear whether Stout withdrew because of the death of Tompkins or some other reason, it's probably for the best. Stout was coming off one of the biggest wins of his career, a sick knockout of Yves Edwards at UFC 131 in Vancouver. The 27-year old Stout, nicknamed "Hands of Stone" won his fist Knockout of the Night bonus for that performance after winning three prior Fight of the Night bonuses. There is no word on a possible replacement for Stout yet, as the UFC has not officially announced Stout's withdrawal. Hopefully he able to return to the cage soon, and best wishes to Sam, his family, and his teammates.
