In the wake of Brock Lesnar pulling out of UFC 131 and Shane Carwin moving up to face Junior dos Santos in the main event, Carwin's original opponent Jon Olav Einemo was left without a fight. The UFC took care of that today by doing a little mix-and-matching, and calling up another fighter to make his UFC debut. UFC.com has it:
Carwin's original opponent on the card, Jon Olav Einemo, will now face fellow newcomer Dave "Pee Wee" Herman, and Herman's original foe, Joey Beltran, will take on UFC debutant Aaron Rosa in bouts verbally agreed to today.
Einemo and Herman will both be making their UFC debuts in Vancouver on June 11th. Einemo is a former ADCC world champion and Pride veteran who is making his return to the sport after five years of inactivity. Herman (20-2) has fought in Bellator and Sengoku in the past, and was scheduled to originally face Rob Broughton on this card before Broughton was replaced by Joey Beltran. Today's change marks Herman's third scheduled opponent.
Beltran (12-5) is 2-2 in the UFC, and is coming off decision losses to Pat Barry and Matt Mitrione. Rosa (16-3) has won six out his last seven bouts and has competed in Strikeforce and Bellator in both the heavyweight and light heavyweight divisions.
