In the opening fight of UFC 110, the first ever Ultimate Fighting Championship held in Australia, MMA legend Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic thoroughly dominated his over-matched opponent Anthony Perosh. The fight ended when Cro Cop opened a ginormous gash on the Australian's forehead that covered the Octagon with blood.

Perosh, the local, came into the fight as a last-minute substitute for Ben Rothwell. The legendary Cro Cop came into the fight with many asking whether or not his heart was still in the fight game after a string of lackluster performances. Bloody Elbow's Luke Thomas said of the fight, "CroCop's going to murder him and if he doesn't, (he) should retire."

Cro Cop stalked his prey from the beginning firing aggressively. When Perosh shot in for a single leg take down, Cro Cop easily stuffed it and locked up Perosh in a head lock. He then tagged the Australian and followed him down with more punches. Perosh survived but just took more punishments for his troubles. A bloodied Perosh, with a visibly busted nose, was repeatedly beaten down throughout the first round and then invited to stand back up for more by the brutal Croatian.

Filipovic began the second stalking his man down and firing with piston-like uppercuts. Perosh shot again only to be stuffed and beaten on the ground before being brought back to his feet. Then Cro Cop fired off a brutal elbow that immediately opened up a huge gash on Perosh's forehead. Cro Cop immediately stopped attacking his opponent and let Herb Dean call a stop for a doctor's examination of Perosh.

They restarted the action somehow and Cro Cop resumed the beating he had been delivering to a now blood covered Perosh. It wasn't long before Herb Dean stepped in and stopped the action.
