Announcing the Winner of FightMetric.com's and BloodyElbow.com's November Insanity Contest

Yes, I know it's taken forever. This is what happens when you burn the candle at both ends.

As we previously announced, FightMetric and BloodyElbow got together to produce something similar to March Madness for MMA. November of 2009 was a crazy month of MMA and we wanted to see how folks could do under a prediction system, bracket-style tournament. Many scored very, very highly, but there was one who clearly surpassed the competition in every way.

Let's cut to the chase: the winner of the contest (winning both on regular and advanced scoring) is BE reader MattfromBelleville. His Basic score? 55. Advanced? 51. To re-tally your scores, go to the calculator and see how you stacked up.

Out of 125 possible entries (these were the only ones who entered this process with a submission that could be reasonably scored), MattfromBelleville did the best job. So what does he win? A $100 gift certificate to Amazon.com to spend as he likes.

Again, thanks to everyone who participated and to FightMetric for such a clever game. I also owe BE reader szuconni a huge thanks for helping with score-tallying efforts behind the scenes. I promise if we do it again, we'll be sure to make the score tallying go a little more quickly.

Thanks again to FightMetric for developing the game and congratulations Matt!
