After New Year's I was waiting and waiting for this fight to show up on the web. Never found it and being a lazy sod, I moved on. But thanks to Nightmare of Battle, I found it.
Like all PRIDE marks, I love Hellboy Hansen and for some reason I'm partial to Miyata -- the typical Japanese Olympian who entered MMA against the top fighters of the sport. Unlike most Miyata has kept getting back in the ring and despite his losing record, he's a really good fighter. This match pits Hansen's BJJ and standup skills against Miyata's olympic wrestling. It's a good tussle and watch Hellboy's slick transition to the submission at the end -- he rolls into a BJ Penn style body triangle with an arm trapped. Nice stuff.
