As if you didn't already know:
"I started training and got good fast and started fighting amateur four months after I started training," Miller said. "Things just kind of took off from there."
Now living in Boca Raton, Fla., Miller trains with American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla.
"It's the best gym in the world. For what I do, for mixed martial arts, it's Mecca," Miller said. "It has all the best fighters. I have a huge coaching staff."
That staff includes an Olympic gold medalist boxer, a five-time Muay Thai world champion and around 20 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts.
Miller raves about his Jiu-Jitsu coach, Ricardo Liborio, whose name is synonymous with MMA. Thanks to the Liborio's tutelage, along with the other members of his staff, Miller has found a great amount of success in a relatively short period of time.
Liborio is touted by some to be as good as Rickson Gracie in jiu-jitsu. Who knows how accurate or meaningful the comparison actually is, but Rhadi Ferguson - the American Olympic judoka who got his black belt in jiu-jitsu from Liborio - swears he's never been manhandled the way he was by Liborio and this was AFTER Ferguson competed in the Olympics. So, ordinarily I'd say that competing in amateur MMA after 4 months of training isn't the best idea, but with a coaching staff that stacked (not to mention the TEAM being stacked as well), the amount of preparation you can get is almost unparalleled.
Now all they need are a few Olympics wrestlers and no one will be able to touch them.
