The leading promotion in bare knuckle boxing make their way across the pound, as BKFC splashes down in London. The event is slated to go down on August 20, live from the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England.
The evening caps off with an intriguing match up, as Mike Perry squares off against Michael Venom Page. Paige Vanzant returns to action in the co-main, when she faces Charisa Sigala at 125lbs.
Other notable combatants expected to see action at BKFC London include: Conor Tierney, Joe Elmore, Sam Shewmaker, Tyler Goodjohn, and James Lilley.
Mike Perry vs MVP (170lbs)
Mike Perry (14-8 MMA, 1-0 BKFC) vs MVP (20-2 MMA) is a special treat for fight fans. The amount of combined combat experience the two have is impressive to say the least. Two veterans that are used to the bright lights, and screaming fans. It's hard to imagine one of these artists not coming straight forward.
Perry's found some success as of late. Since parting ways with the UFC, 'Platinum' has secured two straight victories. In his last outing, Perry pieced up rival Julian Lane at Knucklemania 2, in February. Mike Perry is more than eager to welcome MVP to the wild world of bare knuckle.
Michael Venom Page recently had a 6 fight win streak snapped, when lost to Logan Storley via hard fought split decision. The loss at Bellator 281 was a stinger for Page, and there's no doubt he'll be hunting for the finish in front of his home crowd. It's hard to say how MVP will perform, when the majority of his usual weapons are taken away. It is worth noting that Tapology has him listed with 2 ko's in boxing.
MVP will still be under Bellator contract, when he faces Perry on August 20. A huge move by the MMA promotion to allow one of it's stars to go get a payday. Hopefully this won't be the last time we see promotions working together to make some coin.
Paige Vanzant vs Charisa Sigala (125lbs)
Paige Vanzant (0-2 BKFC) has her back against the ropes, as she takes on Charisa Sigala (1-2-1 BKFC). The co-main in London is sure to be fire, as the battle of the beauties takes center ring.
'12 Gauge' is hungry to prove herself, after dropping her first 2 bare knuckle bouts via unanimous decision. The 28 year old has found financial success on her own, without any combat. Vanzant is one of few athletes that's no fighting purely for a paycheck. She'll have to be in peak condition in order to get the victory, but Vanzant isn't to be underestimated.
Charisa Sigala's last outing ended in a majority draw, as she went toe to toe with Angela Danzig. The two met at a BKFC fight night in March of this year. All of Sigala's bare knuckle bouts have gone the distance. Win, lose or draw, Sigala is all heart. She has a good chance to make a statement in London, but it won't be easy.
Who do you have in the main event? Perry, or MVP.
