Alex Williams, a 16-year-old student, was taking his lunch break on a bench in Guisborough, England recently when he was allegedly approached by a man who threatened, per Teeside Live, “I’m gunna smash your head in” and “I’m gunna stab you down the alley.”

That man probably had no idea that Williams was a multiple time junior world BJJ champion who trains in MMA at SBG South Shields gym.

Video captured the moment the older man approached the teen and appeared to loom over him. See below what happened next:

Williams responded to the man getting up in his face, by grabbing him and hitting a takedown that saw the man go flying through the air. On the ground the pair scramble, with Williams calmly disengaging.

The man squares up to Williams again. This time the teen latches onto him and performs another takedown. However, during that clinch, it is alleged that the older man bit off a chunk of Williams’ ear. The video ends with Williams over top the man.

“My main aim was to de-escalate the situation safely,” said Williams to local news.

The incident ended when the man walked away. Williams called the police soon after. He then went to hospital and received six stitches in his ear.

Police are now investigating the incident and asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the video. Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
