It doesn’t get much more violent than that.
Ignacio Bahamondes already won over fans with his entertaining UFC debut against John Makdessi, but now there’s even more reason to take notice after what he did to fellow Dana White’s Contender Series alum Roosevelt Roberts.
Bahamondes was up on the scorecards and would’ve won a unanimous decision, but why settle for a win on the cards when you can finish the fight in emphatic style? In the closing seconds of the final round, the Chilean fighter unleashed a wicked wheel kick that put Roberts down and out. No follow-up punishment necessary.
Watch the video below:
What a way for Bahamondes to get his first UFC win after losing to Makdessi by decision in his previous bout. As for Roberts, the promising start to his career has faded badly, as this is the third time in a row he’s been stopped. He did have an armbar defeat versus Kevin Croom overturned because Croom popped for the dreaded marijuana, but otherwise it’s been rough for him as of late, and he’s found himself on the wrong end of one of the best knockouts of 2021.
