UFC BMF champ and former two-time UFC welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal believes YouTuber Jake Paul is biting off more than he can chew against Tyron Woodley.
The controversial social media influencer is currently 3-0 against extremely low-level competition but will face his toughest test to date when he takes on Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion and future Hall-of-Famer, next Saturday at Ohio’s Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
Despite his massive inexperience Paul is currently the betting favorite but ‘Gamebred’ believes the YouTube star will get knocked ‘the f-ck out’ on fight night.
“Not to diss Jake, but Woodley can throw them hands,” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani in a recent interview on The MMA Hour (h/t MMA Weekly). Ben Askren never could. You’ve got a guy that can fight and sling fists when it’s time. Woodley could have made his money grappling, which he did. He was good enough of an athlete, and he was good enough of an athlete to make money with his hands, to knock people the f*ck out”.
“I know Jake’s never been in there with a guy like that, that’s explosive, that’s a good athlete, and has a ton of experience over him,” he added. “If Jake wins, f*cking wow. My hat’s off to him. I was wrong. I don’t know shit about fighting, right? But chances are Woodley’s going to knock him the f*ck out.”
Woodley vs. Paul will headline what is anticipated to be one of the hottest pay-per-view events of the year at a Showtime SPORTS event on Saturday, Aug. 29 in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
