Hall and Strickland met in the center of the Octagon and started exchanging. Both men landed solid jabs, but it was Strickland who continued to walk forward and pressure Hall for the better part of the round. Hall finished strong though and was able to deliver a few right hands before the time expired.
A more aggressive Hall would appear in the second and third rounds, but he still seemed to be having trouble dealing with the pressure of Strickland. The No. 11 ranked middleweight would actually hurt Hall on more than one occasion and looked as though he was on his way to finishing the durable fighter. That did not happen, but Strickland would not let up and kept breaking Hall down as the rounds came and went. The fourth and fifth rounds saw Hall and Strickland execute the same strategies, however, only one of them was effective.
The judges’ scorecards were needed and Strickland was declared the winner by unanimous decision. He extends his win streak to five and said he would be happy to fight anyone in the middleweight division moving forward.
