Rachael Ostovich was victorious in her debut at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) on Friday night. The former UFC star and promotional newcomer defeated Paige VanZant in the main event of BKFC 19 by way of unanimous decision.
The fight between Ostovich and VanZant was a back-and-forth affair, but the Hawaiian got the better of her opponent in most of the exchanges. Ostovich actually stunned VanZant with a right hand in the fourth round and kept landing that right hand until the final bell. Ostovich wins her first BKFC fight, while VanZant sees her second straight setback inside the ring.
The co-main event between heavyweights Arnold Adams and Michael Terrill ended with a third-round knockout after the former landed a short left hand in the clinch on the latter, who did not answer the mandatory eight count delivered by referee Dan Miragliotta. Adams, who was the inaugural heavyweight champion of BKFC, expects to compete for the championship again and the win over Terrill puts him in a better position to do so.
The return of Britain Hart was also successful. The woman (or feeling) who handed VanZant her first loss in bare-knuckle boxing extended her win streak to three as she earned a third-round technical knockout over Jenny Savage.
