Yet another fighter was forced to withdraw from a bout due to COVID-19. Per MMA Junkie’s John Morgan, later confirmed by Nolan King, bantamweight Ricardo Ramos had to leave his contest against Bill Algeo, scheduled to take place this coming Saturday at UFC Vegas 24.

No replacement will be booked and Algeo has been removed from the card. MMA Fighting also confirmed that Ramos tested positive for the virus.

In his last outing, Ricardo Ramos (14-3) got TKO’d in the first round by Lerone Murphy, back in July 2020. Before that, the 25-year-old was on a two-fight winning streak, with victories over Luiz Eduardo Garagorri and Journey Newson.

Bill Algeo (14-5) is looking for his first win streak in the Octagon, after having defeated Spike Carlyle via unanimous decision, back in November 2020. The victory came right after an unsuccesfful debut, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Ricardo Lamas, in August of the same year.

UFC Vegas 24 is set for April 17 at the UFC Apex, in Las Vegas. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight bout between former champion Robert Whittaker and contender Kelvin Gastelum.
