After posting up three UFC finishes in 66 days, Khamzat Chimaev, overcame a bout with COVID-19 to make his return at UFC 267 and put the promotion’s #11 ranked 170-pounder, Jingliang Li, to sleep with a rear-naked choke in the first-round. Chimaev got his takedown, yelled at Dana White, advanced his position, and then finished the fight without absorbing a single strike. Not only does Khamzat remain undefeated, but he also takes “The Leech’s” spot in the rankings. It seems as though Chimaev is just as dangerous as he ever was.

Khamzat Chimaev vs. Li Jingliang, Round 1
Chimaev ducks under for a takedown immediately. He just scooped up Jingliang, carried him over to Dana, said something, then threw him down. Wow. He’s got Jingliang in a seated position, now on his knees. Chimaev stays on him. Few punches. Li is doing his best but Chimaev is all over him. Chimaev with a few big punches. He spins to the other side and sinks one hook. Now both. He flattens Li out. Tons of punches. He is stuck. Big shots. Now he’s got the choke! Palm to palm. Jingliang defends, and defends again, but Chimaev just switches the choke to the other side. And Jingliang went out! GAME!
