Covid strikes again. A middleweight rematch between former champion Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall had been scheduled for UFC 258 on February 13th. However, according to a report from ESPN, that will no longer be happening due to Weidman recently testing positive for Covid-19.

It looks like the bout will be pushed back to UFC 261 on April 24th. However, that has not been confirmed and the UFC hasn’t made the change official as of yet.

The two men first met early in their careers at a Ring of Combat event in 2010. It was Weidman’s third career fight, and he stopped Hall in the first round via strikes to claim Hall’s RoC middleweight title. The bout was Hall’s fifth career fight, and that was his first loss.

Weidman (15-5, 11-5 UFC) returned to middleweight in August following a brief stint at 205 pounds, defeating Omari Akhmedov via unanimous decision. Hall (16-9, 9-7 UFC) is on a three-fight winning streak, most recently taking out Anderson Silva in October.
