Today’s show will feature the return of Conor McGregor to the Octagon, as he fights for the first time in a year when he meets former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. The co-main event also takes place in the lightweight division, with three-time Bellator 155-pound champion Michael Chandler making his UFC debut against Dan Hooker.

This post will cover the main event bout between Conor and Poirier.

Today’s show is a standard PPV even though it’s taking place in the UAE. There are two Fight Pass fights, which should kick off around 7pm ET/4pm PT. Things will move to ESPN and ESPN+ for four more fights at 8pm ET, and then we’ll go over to PPV at 10pm ET as per the norm.

Main Card

Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier

Round 1 - Straight left from Conor. Poirier with a right counter. Low kick from Poirier. Poirier with a takedown! Conor is in a seated position against the fence. McGregor up quickly. Shoulder check against the fence from McGregor. Poirier spins him and looks for a single. McGregor defending well and he reverses. They battle it out there for a while, then reset. Low kicks from both men. McGregor looks for a hook kick but misses. Low kick from Poirier. 10-9 McGregor.

Round 2 - Low kick from Poirier. Conor with his own. Low kick again but Conor trips him up. And lands his own low kick. Body shot and a straight left from McGregor. Conor catches another kick and low kicks Poirier. Again. Nice left from Poirier. Conor misses with a left but gets caught with a counter. The next one connect. Poirier with a big left against the fence! Conor is staggered! ANOTHER LEFT DROPS MCGREGOR!! POIRIER FOLLOWS UP AND STOPS CONOR MCGREGOR!
